The entire world has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and in recent weeks the state of South Dakota and our community has been affected, causing some difficult yet necessary adjustments for us all. Unfortunately, as much as we are all looking for a sign that we can get back to our normal lives, the experts project COVID-19 will not peak for another 6-8 weeks. Given this information, the City’s Special Events Committee has decided to postpone all special events through June. With this information Summer Nights will plan for a July 2nd kickoff, however we also know that we are in unpredictable times and therefore this plan may be adjusted at any time. We fully support our City’s efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 and will continue to partner with them to ensure that when the time is right, Summer Nights will return to downtown Rapid City. The health of our citizens and patrons of Summer Nights is and always will be our 1st priority.
Until then, please be patient and let our City leaders make the tough decisions necessary to ensure our community is at full strength as soon as possible.
We hope you will join us in doing everything possible to help our city get back to a new normal!
